Big problem help needed

That could be because the GPU was faulty. Without the graphics card, the PSU isn't under as much stress, so if the PSU is failing, removing the GPU will help with stability.

What PSU is it and how old is it?

The PSU I'm using is a XFX CORE SERIES 650 WATT PSU
and I don't know if this helps but i took out my Graphics and i done a stress test and it was fine, i only did a 4gb stress test when i can do 16gb as i have 16gb ram, should i do a max stress test? would that help find out if the psu can handle it?

I doubt it as with the 7970 it will be pulling much more power than what the onboard will but you can always try.

It does sound like its either the GPU or PSU the only way is to test with another PSU or try the GPU in another PC.

Sounds like the graphics card most likely. As already said, if you can test it in a friends/family pc that should give a good indication and would take 5 minutes.
