hello all.

A few hours ago I was watching YouTube and my system shutdown and a loud noise came through my speakers It was a weird sound and noticed my ram sticks RGB turned off so I tried turning the system back on and the fans would spin but wouldn't boot up I have tried taking the ram out and using a just a single stick at a time in each dim slot but did nothing. I have also tried a different PSU and still nothing and took out the gpu and tried using the igpu but no joy.

Take out the cpu and look for damage and look for discoloured pads and if there is any damage to the motherboard cpu socket as these cpus have known issues of burning up on certain motherboards. A well known issue if you google it.

I’ve had a look and can’t see any damage on the cpu and socket. Thanks for the reply

I was going to ask if there was any debug LED lights showing then I had a quick check but it seems there is none on a x870 motherboard.... :(

It's proberly either the motherboard or CPU, this is how some systems die in the AsRock sub reddit when the motherboard kills the CPU/ or the its the CPU who knows... as it either does not wake up from sleep and the CPU is dead or people are just gaming/ watching Youtube and you get the situation that you have described.

Some links from reddit in the spoilers from people that have had the CPU die like yours.
