have had this computer about a year, all the components have been running fine.
i decided to overclock after my CPU ran out its warranty, tested for 8 hours in prime, and ran fine, no errors.
recently it has developed a habit of completely cutting out a few minutes after loading windows and a few other programs, usually after being on about 10~15 minutes.
the hard drive activity LED remains solid, like its being constantly active, and the monitor says there is no connection, both the PSU and northbridge seem to be getting very hot to the touch, however RAM and CPU feel and look fine according to coretemp and touch.
so, big question, what could it be??? i have tried running separate sticks of RAM in both slots, different HDD's, tried using both onboard graphics and graphics card, same probs, all that remains to check is the CPU, PSU or mobo, and i dont think it's the CPU or Mobo, is there anyway it's the PSU or am i wrong, surely if it were it would just cut straight out, as opposed to remaining on, but giving no output to monitor (yes i have tried another monitor) and saying the HDD is constantly in use?
