Ok my system is:
Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R mobo
Intel e6750 cpu
team xtreeme 2 gig 6400 cas 4 memory
tagan 600w psu
bfg 8800 gt gfx card

sunday evening come back home from work turn the pc on and all it does is just turns on then turns off ,gigabyte mobo would do that whem you make changes to the bios but this time it would not stop rebooting itself. so i figured my mobo died so being without my own pc i figured i will just order new mobo and ram and rma the mobo and sell it on fleabay.

so my new mobo came in today GA-P35-DS3R (no ddr3 support but the same motherboard really) and g.skill ram. i figured it will all work fine, as if. it does the same thing on me. now before ordering new parts i did a check of my "dead" mobo on my mates system and it did the same thing. i am suspicious its the PSU but i dont really want to hook it up to my mates pc to find out the it fried his system as well, thus i can really be sure its the psu. neither do i want to send it back to overclockers to find out that its fine and waste time and money on rma process.

if any1 can help me id be forever grateful. thanks

oh forgot to mention nothing comes up on the screen, i would turn it on it would work for 5 secs then turn itself off then turn itself on..etc

yeah did that, does the same thing as with my PSU which makes me think it might not be the psu at all. im confused to what could be causing it :S

just tried just the mobo + cpu + ram (and no ram) + PSU on a bit of cardboard. still nothing. any ideas or suggestions?

If you have changed PSU and mobo then most likely to be the CPU - was the CPU attached to the mobo when you tested it round your mates and when you plugged in his PSU? also, try taking the CPU fan off and check to see the state of your thermal paste, could not have been applied correctly.

havent changed the PSU, just tested the system with my mates PSU attached. he got almost identical system to mine, so its easy to test. i did test my CPU first thing on his sytem and it worked fine so im 100% sure its not the CPU. as far as theraml paste goes - i do a very good job, built around 40 system so i know how to do things. never got this roblem before in my life tho, really doindg my head in:mad:

have you tried the graphics card in the other system? Have you tried reseating it at all? See if you can borrow your mates gfx card and see if that works.
