So I already have a standard SIM card (I think the contacts on this is bigger than the microsim).
Is there anyway to cut this down to the microsim size?

I noticed some standard SIMs with a smaller contact area (which is similar to the microsim contact area).

Can anyone offer any suggestions or help? Thanks.

...or download a freely available PDF template and go to work with a Stanley blade. Quite easy really but can be a tad buttock clenching if it's say a £50 pre paid SIM!

Heard where ppl cut it too small and gets stick in phone!

My mate took mine out but shoved sim back in without the metal thinghy

A pair of nervous tweezers and a bit of you lucky $>*¥? Later...

I bought a template from expansys. Also comes with a holder to make newly cut small sim into full size sim for use in sensible phones.

I just made my own template for my iPad, cut around it and a bit of emery-board work around the edges and jobs a good 'un. The black dot on original sim was to make sure the notched corners were the same. Works a treat, 5 minute job. :)

I had an 18 month data contract with Orange which they wouldn't change over to the micro sim. Therefore I ordered a free PAYG micro sim from 3, then lined it up via instructions that I'd googled on the web and then using a sharp knife scored the shape of the micro sim onto the normal sim, then used a pair a small nail type scissors to cut the shape of the micro sim out.

Has worked perfectly in my iPad for the last 6 months.
