biggest external hdd

Whats the largest external usb hard drive you can get? Must be without a power cable, so powered via the usb. Need one for a laptop but no space for extra plugs.

powered by usb would mean probably the laptop 2.5" types
which are limited to around 160gb to 200gb (not gonna do much for your P-stash )

why dont you want to power it from the mains again?
