Biggest Screen Size, Resolution & GFX for £1k?

i'll be getting a nice grant in october and was looking to get a big screen for my pc.

i would need a screen and a graphics card to run the higher resolutions.

i was looking at the Dell 2407 with 1920 x 1200 res + 512 X1800XT

but ive seen people using LCD TV's. my dad has one and it looks horrible as the res is something like 1280x760 stretched over a large screen is all blurry.

i want the best size/res and 1:1 pixel mapping would be needed as ive seen my dad's LCD TV with pc input and it looks horrible. all blurry and i couldnt sit infront of that or longer than 5 minutes reading text, hurts my eyes.

Need some suggestions on the best way to spend my money.

well i think its just crap then lol.

okay but that res is less than my current screens so doesnt really offer any advantage apart from being bigger. i would actually get less Desktop Space Than i have with my current 17" screens. and i sit about 1' away from my screens.

i have a projector thats about 76" but is only 800x600 i was looking for more resolution. so i think im gonna be going for either the dell. to get the 1920 x 1200 or the Viewsonic's to get 2x 1680 x 1050

if i did get the dell 24" i would be using my 2x17" digimates eiter side of it. after doing some research i think i will go for the dell. thanks for replies.
