Bike Accessories! Lights, Bag, Guards?

Can I jump in on this thread?

I'm after a decent lock, lights and road tyres for my mountain bike.

I had my bike nicked a while ago and got a new Halfords Carrera Vulcan (crap name :p) and the tyres are ridiculously knobbly, and I mostly just ride on the road. How low should I go for tyres in terms of cost, and how thin in terms of tyre? There are some Nutrak 26" x 1.25" for just £13.99 a pair. I previously had some Continental tyres that were twice the price.

Locks, most of which seem to be made of cheese and are overpriced. What brand should I be looking at?

Finally, lights, a decent set of cheap LED lights? I get angry with bike users when I'm driving around, there's lots of people that use pathetic lights that you can barely see when it's dusky.

I use Continental City Ride 1.25 for road riding on my trek mountain bike, they make life much easier and have puncture protection built in and I've got a Kryptonite d lock which weighs a ton! and is rated for insurance purposes if you have bike insurance.

In terms of cost per mile and puncture protection you can't beat Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres; Post WW3 the giant mutant cockroaches that survive will be using these for transport.

U-lock; Kryptonite are probably the best. Bloody expensive, but you get what you pay for.
