Bike rack

What does everyone use? I would like to avoid having a towbar fitted, though if everyone thinks that it is necessary then I will. What is everyones experience?

My bike goes in the boot in a bike bag, with the wheels in wheel bags. More secure IMHO than a bike rack, although a few minutes needed to remove the wheels.
Mind you it's just myself and my bike, if you need passangers + more bikes then a boot rack or roof rack would be better

Roof racks are much better than the ones on the back from experience (centre parcs every year for ages with 4 bikes)

Bought the car specifically so that I could do the same as you. However I have a few more passengers than normal this weekend. Going to leave it until I know what the weather is going to be like. Think that if I do get one then I'm going to go with the Saris Bones 3 rack.

Towbar + bike rack for me. Better on fuel economy AFAIK though my current saloon car isn't as good for "hiding" the rack as my previous car (a hatchback).
