Bike riding in Cornwall (St Ives) knowledge?

Hi,

We are off to Hayle in August & I am toying with the idea of taking mine and my daughters bike with us (she is 8) we both enjoy cycling, but more off road (for her safety).

Was curious what cycle paths etc are like around that area. As pointless taking them on a 6 hour drive if not suitable. So wondered if any of you have first hand experience.

Just thought we may see some nice views, having a go this way.

looks pretty sad on komoot for gravel/mtb routes and even the MTB flagged routes seem to be mostly on roads

Can’t offer insight on cycling, but Philps pasty shop in Hayle was always on the agenda for our annual rugby tour to St Ives! Lovely part of the world, hope you enjoy!

If you wanted a stop on the way down or home, the Camel Trail is an old railway line and a nice route

About an hour away is the Lanhydrock estate which has a number of bike routes
