Biker filtering

Boot the door then speed off, it's the only way

Had a biker do that to me once becuase in some heavy morning traffic I'd become stationary during a lane change and blocked his filtering route. it cost him a whole change of the traffic lights oh and his insurance excess and no claims discount what a tool.

Nothing worse than some cager who sits in the middle of 2 lanes because he's an idiot and is trying to perform a manoeuvre without having space to do so.

Bike over reacted a bit, I've been known to rev my engine to let people now they've been an idiot.

To be fair if the car driver (I hate the term cager, it's such faux elitism and frankly is a pretty pathetic term) was perfectly entitled to change lane and it just so happens he was blocked from finishing his manoeuvre owing to congestion.

If he did so when it was clear, and the traffic has stopped, a filtering bike will just have to wait until it is clear. Getting angry because they cannot filter for a minute is pathetic.

If the car driver cut up the filtering biker that's a different story altogether. However I get from the OP that the car was already stationary and had already been across the lane well before the bike came.

There's nothing wrong with being across 2 lanes whilst the traffic is slow moving or stationary.

Filtering is legal, but at the same time it's not a right of way.

Completely agree. No point in getting worked up. You'll be passed them eventually.

Now when you see a car purposely move over to try and block filtering, that grinds my gears.

Reving your engine in those circumstances is an aggressive act and anyone who does so sites themselves up as having poor judgement and manners on the road.

They would be less safe because a motorbike arguably takes more skill to ride than a car does to drive and not everyone will be able to do so confidently.

As a former biker commuter (power range, whatever) I would say both are to blame and im embarassed when I see bikers get mad at such trivial things.

Same as when 4 wheel drivers get mad for seeing bikes "gaining an advantage"

Its pathetic but sadly even supposed grown ups seem to love the odd temper tantrum when things don't go their way. Says a lot about a person.

I doubt any able bodied person couldnt master how to ride a bike. I say this having been to India last year and seeing some seriously unusual riders.

I always try to move over to give them more room if I see a bike filtering, but quite often see idiots who purposely move into their path to block them from going any further. It doesn't surprise me that they get annoyed with it sometimes.

Happens a lot. Usually from the same niche set of people driving the same type of car.

As such- you can get quite good at predicting potential murderers in advance :D
