Bikers Youtube thread

1970s: "hahaha those japanese bikes are all junk, you'll never catch me riding one"

2000s: "those Korean cars are all crap, they'll never take off"

2020s: "those Chinese bikes are all junk, I wouldn't be seen dead on one"

Well, here they come. Like it or not, they're coming and they're getting better and better. Once more dealerships open up or service centres get appointed, and people start getting confidence in the ability to buy parts for 10 year old bikes, it's game over. And no amount of "ehrmahgehrd Chinese bikes are gross ewwww" by the usual luddites and idiots on social media will stop them.

As a saffer I've obviously got a fairly high opinion of this man, as a motorcyclist he's one of the greats who's designed some of the most controversial and epic machines ever made.

This interview from 6 years ago is great. He's designed a leccy bike, and in his own words "they're incredibly functional, they're very efficient and they leave you completely cold. They sound like golf trollies and the fact that they don't have a clutch - I personally don't like it".

So he made a leccy bike with a clutch. Bloke's a legend.

Quite the change with these two. Always enjoyed their shenanigans and BVG looks properly upset and a bit lost here.

Hopefully they figure it out once the dust has settled.

Yeah, there was a whiff Al was off when they uploaded the V4R video - then he pops up on MCN, presumably either a stand in for Neevsey, or maybe has the chief tester job lined up.

Chris did look proper emotional, it's a good decade together, growing the channel and doing all sorts of shenanigans - but of the two, you could see that BVG had no money worries; I can only presume that Al had to sack it off as it wasn't paying much.... they always alluded to the fact the channel wasn't a huge earner.

Hopefully the channel continues to go on - but it has lost a huge part of what made is special imo, and although they have Boothy now and then, he never seemed to be a big part of the day to day stuff - in part to his huge TT crash I suppose...

The MCN comments were pretty brutal though, some proper old fart comments moaning about how it wasn't a review etc etc
