Morning chaps,
Started the car this morning (BMW E46 328i) and it sounded like someone had changed the engine for a diesel. Upon driving it (1 mile to work) it had hardly any power and struggled to get past 40mph. It felt very rough while driving, almost as if I had a flat tyre and a rattling was coming from near the exhaust (or at least it sounded from that direction)
I thought it maybe the fuel injectors? It's been running fine for the last few days where it's been colder than this morning but around a month ago I had the coil springs replaced on the back, and two weeks later a slight knocking started when I went over a bump, I put it down to a coil spring but this morning exactly the same sound happened all the way in to work.
Any ideas? It’s been on a longish trip earlier this week for around an hour so I don’t think it’s the short trips that would have caused it.
