BIO Update Process

I'm currenlty using an Asus P5W DH Deluxe with BIOS from about 2 years ago.

1. Is there any reason why I should update the BIOS?
2. Does updating the BIOS reset the settings? i.e. do I have to set it up again?

The act of flashing a bios requires that you reset the bios to "Default", before doing the flash. Once flashed, you then set "Defaults again and reboot back to the bios and input you own settings. So the answer to your question is yes. Never use a saved bios profile from one bios to another either, always redo your settings from scratch.
