bios flash x1800 xt to pe

there should be 6 mosfets for the pe bios to work properly, been running mine with the pe bios now for 4-5 weeks, was using the stock cooler and it was fine with that but ive just got a maze 4 gpu block now so im all nice and cool. 30idle and 38load to be precise.

must say, make sure you bacup your old bios before you flash, by pressing the save button.

make sure you downclock the card to 500core 500mem before the flash to stop any complications.( use atitool or overclocker )

and make sure you tick the force box to force flash the new bios.

hope this helps.

ps im now getting 10,056 in 3d05 so its well worth doing.im also not held responsible if anything goes wrong.

cheers

I'm just wondering if anyone have gotten their card destroyed after some time? I mean, it works great for me now with the stock cooling and pe bios, but I'm worried about the long term effect. Is it safe to run with the pe bios 24/7? I don't want my card to be ruined in a few months... I'm not that rich, unfortunately

And btw, during full load it seems to be around 78c. Is that too high, or is it ok?

the sapphire pe cards are identical even the same factory heatsink. so why would yours last less time ? dont worry about it, ive been running mine for 5 weeks now with no hicups whatsoever. temp is fine, the core doesnt start slowing down till 105c. do you see artifacts ? no then dont worry. i would also try and overclock it to its limit just to see when is starts artifacting so you can be res assured that the pe bios isnt much of an overclock.

im running the xt at stock pe speeds 700/800

Ok, that comforted me :) . No, I don't get any artifacts, unstable system what so ever. I think I'll keep it at 700/1600, it performs well enough in 1024x768 ;) . I haven't heard about any damaged cards yet, so I guess it's fine :)
But now I'm going to try fear :D
