Just finished building my new rigbut having a few probs with starting the bloody thing

1) no visuals on the monitor

2) getting BIOS/POST beeps when i turn the pc on - its a long beep then rest for a few seconds then another long beep then rest again and so on...

motherboard - evga nforce 680
cpu - QX6700
ram - corsair dominator pc6400 2x 1gb sticks

not sure mate. error is C1 not 1C. and i think its memory.... evga support page says try only one stick which i just have but i still get the error :(

Memory error.

Try each stick one at a time ensuring that it's fitted correctly. Try different slots if needed. Also try restting the bios.

Im pretty sure C1 is a memory error...it is on my epox anyway but I assume its similar/the same for all mobos with the lcd post display thing.

ok lads, working now, only using one stick though..... should i continue with one stick, get everything up then try the second in later?

Make sure theres no dust or carp in the other memory slot...might be worth trying both in opposite slots to before.

wonder if its the voltage thing again. were the better memory requires highvoltage to get it to work notice yous sais 1.9-2.3v and mem voltage is 1.8v at stock soo the voltage isnt enough to get the mem going so it fails the post cgheck. if you have anyt bog standard ddr2 mem you can use that to get into bios and change the voltage then come back out shut down and stick ya good stuff in.

this may not be the problem but just an idea of something to try.

:D oh its working :D the second stick may not have been seated in the slot properly
