Bios problem?! advice needed please.

Hi,
My mobo is an Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z with an i7-2700k overclocked to 4.6Ghz which was part of a system i bought from OC just over 2 yrs ago.

Yesterday i bought and fitted a new graphics card from OC (EVGA 780Ti Classified)

Since then my bios resets and wont boot everytime i switch off at the mains.
Even if i just set the time and date and then boot into windows, the next time i power off at the mains it forgets it all again.

I've built many systems over the yrs but never seen this before.

Power supply is ample (850W)

Thankful for any advice.

are you running the latest bios version?

take screenshots or write down all your oc/bios settings before updating as it will wipe them inc saved profiles

i've got the latest bios and it wont even remember default settings, it resets everytime regardless.

Check the voltage of the CMOS battery, it might be lower than 3.3V and make problems with storing the data to the ROM memory.

CMOS battery is fine i've checked that, when it halts at boot i get an IDE Detect error
