Ive updated my bios and all seemed to be well, but when i boot up it posts then says Verify vmi data pool... - it just hangs there-wont go no further

problem is i dont have a floppy drive to reinstall last bios. Is there anything else i can do?

Gigabyte p35c-ds3r rev 2.0

orig bios-f2
updated to f9 and now the problem

your advise is appreciated

just an idea the last time i updated my bios for this mobo i had to move my sata cables into different slots. all the ports still work for some reason the last bios didnt like the way mine was configered

Yes but you really need to save a Decent Bios on a Stick or a Floppy. Can't you just nip out local & pick up a cheap one for now.

I could i guess, but wouldnt auto executing the orig bios from cd when booted to cd do the job?

Ill try it thanks

If you have more than one drive in your machine, then the new BIOS will have reset everything so chances are it's sticking because it's trying to boot from a drive that doesn't have Windows on it. Try entering the BIOS and going into the hard drive boot priority and making sure that your system drive with Windows on it is the first hard drive it boots.

Don't get confused with the "First", "Second", "Third" boot items as well... even if the first one says "Hard Drive" you need to make sure that it's booting the correct hard drive and somewhere on that page is a sub menu that lets you do that.

Thanks though

Sorry, had to check as sometimes the simple stuff gets missed :)

What have you got plugged in to the system at the moment? If it's anything more than the very basics unplug it all and try again.

I have a 3850pro installed 2gb ram,2x sata 500gb so i guess thats basics or should i remove one drive?

i have tried creating a bootable cdrom with drdos on it but this does not work, it just gets stuck at: boot from cd\dvd...

If i were to get a memory stick, how would i go about doing it that way? and does this mean my mobo could be bricked? it does post and get into bios settings!

please help
