Ive just realised that my cpu isnt at the speed it should be. And to make matters worse it appears to have no inetntion of going back to the speed it was when I first overlcocked it.

This is happening on my Abit IP35 Pro and Q6600. When I first bought them it was stable at 3096mhz and I saved those setting to a profile in the bios and now when I either load the profile or enter the settings manually they dont stay. I reboot and I get no erros or messages, the bios just resets the settings to defaults.

Im going to see about a bios update now but im sure it wont help.

Any ideas?

Right I have tried a new battery and updated the bios to the latest version and it still no workies!

Is it one of these weird unexplained things or can it be fixed?

If not holding the values after a new battery and BIOS update, then it would seem like a faulty BIOS chip. They can be replaced but it's best just to replace the board, especially if it's still in warranty.

I did a search using 'Abit IP35 Pro bios chip' and i found that a large on-line auction site, which i can't name, sells them for £12'ish.

Good luck with it.
