Hey. I currently have a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 mono with phenom ii x2.

I'm getting a fx6300 or a 1090t but I need to update my bios from f1 to f3.

How do I do this ? Do I just download the driver the site like anything else or do I need to put it on a flash drive ?

Any help would be great. Thanks

Download and unzip the latest bios to a usb stick. Reboot the computer and hit "End" to bring up Q-Flash, Gigabytes built in bios flashing tool. Select the file on the usb stick and after it it asks you if you are really, really, really sure you want to do this, let it do it's thing. After the flash, clear cmos, re-enter your settings and away you go.

You can save your current settings to a profile - press F11 in the BIOS.

You may be able to load them back from the saved profile after the BIOS update.

However the settings from one BIOS version may not be compatible with another version, or the profiles may be wiped, so note down any settings you'll need to change after the BIOS update.

I'd suggest putting the new BIOS file onto a FAT32 formatted memory stick as NTFS isn't always supported.
