Bioshock - BORED

Well, most of you have summed up my thoughts on this game. It's as dull as a rusty spoon. I mean, what is worse it feels like a BLATANT rip-off of No One Lives Forever 2 (a MUCH better game tbh).

So much so it feels like a level/section that got ommited from that game.

Hell, even the Bad guys are the same (Big Daddies that is).

The only difference is NOLF2 did it better than bioshock, and was a hellova lot more fun.

Combat sucked. Plasmids are just force powers/powers that we've seen in other games. Fighting Big Daddies was crap because they moved like John Travolta on Crystal Meth and you moved like a 90yo man who just woke up from a 50 year coma.

And then it gets reviews giving it 10/10 95%+. What ******.

I wasn't even hyped about the game, and still felt disappointed.

It's a great game first time through, nowhere near the best game but definitley great

Tried playing it through again and I just couldn't, was so boring.

If you rush through the first time, and dont play around with the plasmids and finding all the way to kill things, and exploring the levels, then it probably could be played through again, but if you have done all that, then it really is a bore fest second time through

I thought it was good, but noting to wright home about. A typical hyped up game that never warrents a better score than the likes of games like Mafia, COD, HL 1/2 and the mods.

The fun is in trying to kill enemies in as many different ways as possible. If you use the same technique over and over it will get boring. I personally think its the best single player since resident evil 4 (on gamecube)

Only played 3 levels and I am enjoying it so far, but Im bored of fighting Big daddies.

You can see how it has been dumbed down for the consoles like Dues ex 2, so I doubt we will ever see another 'Deus ex 1' from that developer...

I just got it today and although I've only played a couple of hours or so it just seems like any other FPS, there isn't much new. It seems a decent game but hasn't lived up to the "OMG 10/10 best game ever!!!!11!111" hype.

Don't follow the hype in future mate. I swear some of you lot just build it up in your head to bring it down.

I opened bioshock expecting nothing. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

From all the ads I was expecting this game to have some of the most interesting gameplay in an FPS yet? Things like hacking and traps

To be fair, most if not all of the 10/10 hype was from the XBox magazines or Multi-Format charts.
Both PC Gamer and PC Zone scored it just below/equal to HL2 and Edge gave it an 8.

I've not played it yet and won't be buying it till next year when there is a lull in top class single player games. I had it pre-ordered but canceled due to the SecureRom debacle.

I think the hype that surrounded this game and the sky-high expectations that followed almost killed the game. If they had released it with less media hype and and kept it under wraps for a lot longer then it would probably see better comments about it.

Personally I think its a pretty good game but yes very repetitive and tbh nothing special when it comes to the plasmids idea.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Me - love the game, by far one of the best I have played in a very long time.
Cannot imagine having to play a medal of honour game, killing nazi's.

I would rather stop playing games, than have to play another WW2 game..

What he said. How people can lap up endless identikit WW2 games is beyond me! Whether you like it or not, Bioshock is at least creative with its location, weapons and enemies. Personally, i loved Bioshock. Endless WW2 games = ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

A creative setting is great but it has to be enjoyable and/or exciting, neither of which seemed evident from the Bioshock demo.

I loved it to bits and when i completed I was dissapointed it didnt last longer but then heard about the alternate ending so i started to play it again but soon got bored.

Still a great game and very glad i bought it.

The one problem with todays games is the lack of Creativity

Game devs look at Graphics before most things which is just silly

Graphics do not make a game epic

If anyone says Bioshock is creative you are a fool, its a copy of System Shock 2

edit: I can't remember the last time i played a REALLY long SP game which actually made you throw the control pad/mouse around

Hold my hand please devs!

I have to admit i've become a bit bored of Bioshock as well. I've actually fired the game up a total of three or four times since buying for about an hour and a half each time.

It was really good fun at first, but now it's just a case of hacking the security, killing the splicers, and progressing as you would. Nothing a lot different.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good game. But it's no HL1, Doom 3, or UT2004. Personally it goes in the category as HL2 for me - a great game, let down by it's hype and linear gameplay.

I find this game a bit tedious and way overhyped personally.
I'd give it a 9.2 score nothing like the 9.8s and 10/10s that's sheer hype at It's worst.

bring on TF2, I havent even finished Bioshock and I dont think I will for some time, infact I feel like playing through HL2 again, that was the best single player game ever.

Am now on the 4th Level and its getting slightly tedious but if you play it in small chunks its a good blast!

Doom 3 was dull but I only played it at max 1hour per time and it remained quite good fun.

But on the whole silla very good game, if a bit dumned down for mainstream consoles.
