Bioshock: demo overnight

Cant believe im paying for this, whoever is saying "at least we get a demo" its stupid, i expect a demo for £40 a year.

Hell, PSN is free and the demo's max my connection out when downloading them at peak times!

Its not fanboyism, its the truth!

Leon, thats a glitch, its not actually done 50%.

tastyweat, if you can, I suggest you go play 5 mins of gears then come back and say that....

I've played the game through  It was ok - but nothing groundbreaking.

People who've played the demo - What's the controls like?

I've played Halo on Xbox and found the controls fine (eg gamepad for FPS).

Would you put Bioshock in the same bracket? (eg is aiming ok?)

(I'm still deciding between new PC + Bioshock or buying a 360 and Bioshock :D)

Aiming's nice and easy - there's also a bit of auto-aim enabled too, so if you don't quite get the crosshairs on the enemy you can still hit them.

Well you're the lucky ONE then... PSN is always much slower than Xbox live except when they release a highly anticipated game like this.

XBL used to max a 100mbit line & most of the time maxes the 20mbit line I have now.... with PSN whatever time of the day I'm lucky to see 10mbit.

And your gold membership has nothing to do with demo downloads... you can get them on silver without paying a penny. The subscription is for you to be able to play multiplayer over xbox live

Yes, because there's been such a high demand for the demos on the PSN.

Not.

lol... fair enough... some silly people around... would be funny though if he actually bought gold membership to be able to download demos :D £40 to MS for nothing lol :D

Nice, sounds like Halo.

OK 360 it is then :D <bank balance breathes sigh of relief>

Yeah... the only thing I have noticed that's different on the aiming system... in halo, once you get the crosshairs ontop of someone and you're running around them, the crosshair actually follows them automatically, I haven't noticed this in bioshock.

WARGH
I wanna go home! Having said that, I doubt I'll even get the thing downloaded today anyway :(

well the demo itself has disappeared from my active downloads list several times, i then had to go and delete the data to re download it, still haven't got past 1%, didn't have any problems with the trailer :(

If you are having problems, you may want to to the delete and re-download thing. I just re-downloaded the demo and it was pretty quick.
i dont think i dare risk loosing 50% of the demo only to download it at snail pace again

Now if only there was much worth downloading from the PSN in the first place ;)

Everytime I go online with the PS3 it's like visiting an almost empty warehouse.

The subscription charge for the 360 is one of the best bargains you can get in gaming. From demos alone i've had far more fun than the average full priced game offers. Add Live Arcade (love Track and Field :) ), game trailers and the crap load of people playing loads and loads of games, all with headsets as standard, and it's cheap at double the price.
