Bioshock Demo - representative of retail version?

Just wondering the above with regards to FPS. i.e. has anyone got better FPS with the retail version overr the demo. If so, I'll buy, if not, I won't.

Yeah pretty much the same for me as well. Surely the rig in your sig can handle Bioshock with ease, it scales very well. It's worth playing for just the voice acting, simply brilliant.

shame, I quite liked the demo. I've only just upgraded to a 7600GT a few months ago won't be going any further for a while now...

Im sure the demo ran about the same as what retail does now for me to.

I've tried various settings, can't really get a nice 60+fps at a visual quality I'm happy with. I know, I'm asking too much of my humble rig.

Works fine, im running the game maxed on DX9 mode, smooth and ace.

He's after 60+ though, no chance with a 7600 GT, i only get 50+ with a GTS.

Nvidia's 163.44 Beta drivers which they released for Bioshock :- http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_downloads_rel70betadriver.html.

bioshock isnt the sort of game that needs a constant 60fps and it still feels really smooth at lower frame rates for me unlike some other games that can feel sluggish.

Will try that then. I was getting a near constant 20fps with these settings:
1024x768 2xAA+Multisampling, 2xAF. This was with the latest official drivers. Please hold....

I heard something about AA not working properly in Bioshock so you might want to disable that seeing as you only have a 7600GT. Maybe consider overclocking your cpu a bit further as this may provide a further gain if you drop to 800x600.

But then its appaling to look at.... maybe I'll try medium quailty with these settings

I tried those drivers but there was no improvement

Turn off some of the shader options.

If it can run Bioshock, buy it - the game is so good that you won't really care once you get into it IMO

Just played it through on high/10x7/2xaa+ms/2xaf and it wasn't fast enough for me. Will try medium or high with low shaders. Love the effects. You know the bit where you first inject a plasmid -cut scene - the small girl statue to the left looks great. Is this a shader option or HDR or something?
