Bioshock Hands On

So is this primarily a console game then simply being ported over to the PC?

No it's not a port. They developed it seperatly for the PC, I think they ported it from the PC to the 360 im not too sure.

If you have to ask what the minimum specs are, then you will most likely not be able to run it well enough to enjoy - rule of thumb :p

That's not the answer i wanted to hear! :p

Seriously though, generally I'm quite happy catching up slowly playing games that were released 3 years ago, I don't wanna fork out too much to play one game, regardless of how amazing it will be. I'm not too fussed about graphics tbh, as long as it runs ok.

Im really looking forward to this game. From the interview it sounds like they really are trying to get it to run and play well on both the pc and xbox, and not just bring out another game that runs ok on one platform and a bugy mess on others.

That doesn't make sense dude

It does, what he's getting at is the fact that if it has no multiplayer a larger amount of people will just download it, so to counter that they should make it cheaper to encourage sales.

Exactly. I pay for all my games anyway means ill benefit :D

I don't think cutting the price by 2/3rds would encourage enough sales to make up for the small impact lack of multiplayer will have

Obviously, a giant multiplayer game will sell well, but BioShock was never one of those games to start with and that's something I'm glad for - I love multiplayer but BioShock was never something I was expecting multiplayer from. I want an amazing story, amazing moodiness/horror and amazing scope in the gameplay. That's what I'm hoping it delivers (and they've done a damn fine job of convincing me it will do, even if the final 'vision' is different to my own).

Think you need some glasses, unless of course your PC consists of a 15" CRT and a voodoo graphics card. (before you come back and say it Ive read your sig)
My eyesight is fine thanks.

in your opinion maybe, but 4hrs of repetetive gameplay isnt everyones cup of tea, i'd much rather play MTW2 with thousands of ultra detailed chars battling it out on screen or X3 with massive space battles ships blowing up debris hurling or even battlefield2/2142 with 60+ players spanning massive maps ... but most importantly hundreds if not thousands of hours of top notch gameplay and the added bonus of new content created by massive MOD communities ...
I didn't mean the gameplay of Gears Of War I meant the graphics.

There are at least 5 PC games I can think of with better graphics than Gears of War, dont get me wrong the graphics are good but they dont wipe the floor with the lastest PC GPU piling as much AA as the game can take!

I prefer the graphics on Gears Of War than the likes of Oblivion maxed with AA/AF and Call Of Juarez at hi-res.

Judging from the hi-res movies from Bioshock on PC and 360 (If it was really a 360 vid) the graphics look the same I thought.

So looking forward to this game, really hope it lives up to the expectation too. Some of the videos I've seen on www.gametrailers.com look quality

Irrational games announced in a Q & A session on January 19, 2007 that there would be no multiplayer element.
That, however, is VERY disappointing :(

It is, but with a good response I think they may add it in via a patch at a later time.

I'd prefer it on PC, but if it runs like poop on better machines, I'll get it for the 360, simple :)

Same. My graphics card is a geforce 6800... Reckon that would play it anywhere near as good as a 360?

If not it's an easy decision because I'm not upgrading for one game.

Xbox 360 would play it better.
