Bioshock Infinite performance

Another performance thread for us to compare the all important fps that we get

The game comes with a built in benchmark tool that is rather good, it exports all the stats so they can be read in Excel and is quite detailed.

Nvidia have just released new 314.22 drivers optimised for Bioshock Infinite that give quite a performance boost so any Nvidia users out there should pick those up immediately.

314.21

Average fps: 69.88
Min fps: 7.65
Max fps: 271.09

314.22

Average fps: 96.04
Min fps: 19.73
Max fps: 283.41

@ 1440p with max settings and DDOF.

314.22 driver here.

I havn't tried a single card as I reckon it would struggle a bit since I'm at 1440p. The most demanding thing seems to be DDOF but I couldn't notice a difference in visuals with it on or off. I've turned my VPN off atm so will have to wait for midnight before I run the benchmark again.

Min to max looks pretty awful, I'm assuming it won't be like that on a single card.

Great improvement, good to see the driver got released before the game. AMD, learn from this please

DOF is a pain and kills performance, like Metro and BL2 i think i'd have this turned off. I really don't like the effect.

Me neither, the effect isn't worth the fps hit.

Isn't that the effect that blurs your peripheral vision when aiming down the sight?

Yes, depth of field. In some games it can work nicely but in most, especially Chivalry: Medieval Warfare it turns everything into a blurred mess.

With everything on max I used 2034 vram at 1440p.
