Bioshock Infinite performance

It should be with those movie style textures that I heard mentioned a few times.....

Tag team again!

Seriously though, that wasn't what was being said. I was saying that with Bioshock Infinite using studio quality (not movie style) textures, RAM is going to get hammered without people being able to use the GPU grunt/RAM usage relationship examples.

I think the OP's tests do imply that as well, as he has strong max and average FPS, but both minimums are quite low.

Without wanting to start a major flame war. Who's the fastest in this title so far? I see Nvidia have their drivers out for this game already. How does AMD compare? Has the game officially been released yet or is everyone using a VPN to unlock it early?

That's a question to ask when its released officially mate. Not enough people have bothered to unlock it via vpn with a nice selection of gcards to test it on yet.

If this is a game that requires 2 7970s to get the best out of it at 1600p I might just get it as a flagship for my new upgrade.

I wouldn't be surprised though if NVidias new driver boosts the performance up to the already optimised level that the 7970 can run it at though, if not slightly worse.

Either way though, it looks like the performance is more than good enough regardless of who is in the lead.

I hope it does. I want AMD to keep on their toes. They've been outstanding recently but they should not rest on their laurels just because at the moment they're in front. (excluding Titan before someone calls me out on it :D)

I really want to buy it myself, not to play just to bench. God what have i become. :(

Yup my thoughts entirely. Doesn't matter whos faster as long as your own experience is smooth and to your standards and expectations.

Slippery slope to quiting gaming for good there mate!

Does this game have an in game benchmark?

From the OP
"The game comes with a built in benchmark tool that is rather good, it exports all the stats so they can be read in Excel and is quite detailed."

All those dodgy sites are making people in this thread go blind :D
