Bioshock : Infinite

Haven't played either of the first two but this instantly caught my attention when I saw the trailer. Kind of considering getting the earlier games now...

Bioshock 1 is one of my favourite games, and this is from someone who generally hates FPS.

Can't wait for this, really really can't.

I know for a fact I won't be trusting anyone that asks you kindly to complete a task ;)

Seeing as irrational games have actually made this one (unlike bioshock 2) i have a lot of hope for this one (unlike bioshock 2).

I really enjoyed Bioshock 2, as the combat was much improved and I thought the story was on par with the original.

I'm in two minds about Bioshock Infinite. I imagine, as it's tied to a Bioshock name, it would have a good tie in with the original story. I guess we'll find out as we go along. It would be nice if they tried to kick start the SystemShock series off again, as that would be truly terrifying!

Games set high in the sky make my stomach turn :(

I have no idea why, and it doesnt stop me playing. But woh, My stomach leaps...When i jump from bridges in Fallout 3 for instance, or a massive tower on Assassins creed. No doubt Im gonna get the same feeling somewhere along the line in this one. :D

Looks good though! I enjoyed the first game when i upped the difficulty. Thought it was pants on normal difficulty though. 2nd game wasnt for me, hated it. It was just more of the same... WHICH IS WHY THIS GAME LOOKS GOOD. its not more of the same!!!

So Woo... and Woh

By the way I think the main creator has said it doesn't really have anything to do with the other two bioshocks story wise. :)

He doesn't call it prequel though and drew no narrative connections between the BioShocks we have played and the one his team is making. "I don't want to think about that," Levine said to me. "I don't think it's particularly constructive to have that conversation."

I'm really liking the fact they've decided to opt for a voiced character with a personality, back story and motives beyond 'just being there' ala Bioshock 1. A great story can't exist without a good protagonist to progress it.

I have to disagree. Thought the story was superb in the first Bioshock and the guy didn't speak in it.

It completely lacked character development which for me is a huge crux in a storyline. It was a good plot, but the story just seemed to amble along, driven purely by a guy with a dodgy accent telling you what to do. There were no motivations, no real reason to care about what you were taking part in. If the character had something invested in it from the start, a reason or motivation other than 'been told to do that, kk'

Put it this way, by the end of the game i felt exactly the same about all of the characters involved as i did when i started. I did not care for the protagonist or anyone that helped him, nor did i feel any hatred or fear of the villains. By the end of a good story you should feel like you know and understand the characters involved, especially the protagonist.
