theres hacking or lack of in demo as there was security bots and that i wanted to turn to my side but i couldnt see any terminals to hack into which was ashame.

You can hack any of the security bots, the machine gun turret or most importantly: the secruity camera, did you read all of the tips in the tutorial menu?

Just some things, but i thought the speakin bloke would have told me about it as he is basically the tutorial guy. So how do u hack the security bots and what nots, as i said i couldnt find a control panel on the wall to use or press use button on things.

I've only played the PC demo through once, but if you press M to go to your map, there's a small selection of 4 icons in the bottom right, one of these goes to a log of tips, the one about the rejuvination chamber goes there, if you read on you'll notice some entries about the various security parts of the game.

If a security camera spots you a white light will shine, if you stay in its line of sight then a security alert will be triggered and the bots will come searching, for YOU! But if you manage to sneak around the camera and go underneath it, you can hack into it, now all of the security bots will look for your enemies and kill them for you.

First time I played through (on the 360) I got my ass handed to me by the splicers and bots, but once you hack the camera it's incredibly easy, so much so that if it's possible I really want to try it on hard when the full game gets here (although I imagine a Big Daddy conflict might make that not such a good idea).

Thanks for the info, if i ever play the demo again i will give it ago, but since i played it and know what the demo is like all the way through its kinda pointless for me as i hate repeating myself replaying things.

About difficulty, medium is hard enough lol, any harder would take me ages to play and as i said if i die ill be taken to chamber and have to redo that part which would get on my nerves.

You found it difficult in any way? :o

It was far far too easy. It's actually my only worry about the final game. I guess I didn't miss all the tips on hacking, etc though. Did you know how to use med kits?

Another thing I found odd/a bit annoying is that you can't carry more than 9 med/eve hypos at once. The hoarder in me doesn't like that :p

Well the hard part was the (spoiler)

--
Bit near the end where horde after horde of splicers jumped off the stairs down to the level ** on and kept attacking when ** out of placid stuff for ** arm and wrench was hard to use on a lot of em due to lighting and them moving so fast and all near u. Then theres guns, which the pistol is horid to aim and shoot with, the mini gun was ok for firing but no crosshair for accuracy made aiming a bit difficult due to the lighting and the way splicers move quickly in the shadows and well it kinda confused me a lot, i didnt hear the bloke u see say go to medical area till i died about 4 - 5 times with em always right outside the booth. Other than this part it was easy enough tho i wish the use of hand didnt use up so quick i mean u get 2-3 shots of lighting then u need to reinject which i didnt like. I half expected 10 shots till i need reinjecting.

This is a x1950pro thread so dx10 performance will need to be sought elsewhere.

Ingame at start. Tho high fps maxed at 1280x1024 details. Everything before actual gameplay was about 15-20fps which felt well not smooth. Ingame tho it felt nice and smooth.

Thats good news. What other parts you running? Im running a rather aging 3700 clawhammer @ 2.7ghz, 74g Raptor, 2GB of ram and a X1900XT 512mb @ XT-X speeds. Only have a 19" monitor so maxed out at 1280x1024 would be fine and dandy for me.

One more for the gfx.

I must say the game is defo a thriller type of game which to be honest i dont like that much as i never liked that in doom 3 or alien vs predator games. Im more of a run around shooting ppl like in moh or somit. The game is nice but i duno if its my type of game. Certainly fun with the hand as well tho the inferno was a bit dull and then theres hacking or lack of in demo as there was security bots and that i wanted to turn to my side but i couldnt see any terminals to hack into which was ashame. I absolutly loved the big daddy part when it happened it rocked seeing him really smack that bloke all over hehe my type of goon he is. :) The little sister i already wana smack up as shes just evil and stuff. I supose one of the worst things i can say is the radio chatter, its very hard to clearly hear what the guy is saying when the music is busting or im in a fight and the voices of the enemy is talking over him plus he has a accent which is hard to clearly hear. I think ill use subs next time i play.

I am very disapointed the length of the demo considering the size of it. All that space i think is for vids, as there of very high res and quality which for a demo i thought was useless. So could have been far smaller in size i think.

There is no savin in the demo which is a shame as i wanted to save and quit half way through cos had things to do so thats a minus for the demo. I hope the full game if i was to get it had a full on save anywhere system so you can leave anytime and pick up and play when u want to resume. I hate checkpoint systems too which the game has.

are you using AA in that? i can;t see many jaggies at all in there.

Specs in sig, and nope no aa is or can be used the Unreal 3 engine since it doesn't support it as far as im aware. Doesnt look to bad tho for no aa.

I have an X1900XT and it ran the demo surprisingly well! Maxed out at 1280x1024 I was getting a framerate of 35-60 and it was very smooth with no slowdown. My card is playing up and I was getting lots of artifacts and stuff like that.

So yes... It should run on a X1950 pro absolutely fine!

just finshed the demo on my x1950pro it ran nicely
all maxed out at 1024x768(highest my moniter can do)

Why have they made the unreal engine not to support AA?

Surely that's something pretty much first on the list?

Either way, I can't really decide on whether to get the PC version or 360. It runs well on my 1950pro, max settings drops into high 20's few times.

I may be slightly swaying towards the 360 version atm though due to the fact I haven't finished a PC game in a long long time compared to my 360.

Some people apparently seem to have AA working, I've seen comparison pictures at the same res and it's definately there.

Maybe the full game will have some easier method of getting it to work...maybe, will find out soon the yanks get the game today.

It might just need a workaround like Vegas does, we'll see.

Oh yeah i hacked the security camera with the V key when under it, then its a pipe game where you gotta get the fluid from one part to the next. Easy i though since you can swap parts around as you find em.

I'm downloading the demo now, cant wait to play it now after reading all the threads on it and looking at your screen shots, it looks stunning even in dx9 :D

I can play it very very smoothly maxxed out at 1280x1024 on my x1900xt, everything turned on 16x high quality AF etc, but the lack of AA really detracts from the experience. The graphics look good dont get me wrong, but with no AA it brings the level right down. Not all of us have monitors with high enough resolution to play without AA
