I'm thinking of getting a camera to see close up feeding of the birds in my garden. I wondered if anyone could advise me.

I'm looking for battery powered as I don't have any outside mains, and this camera says it runs for 120 days on 2 batteries.

But I'm guessing I would ideally need a zoom function and I'm not sure if that cam has one.

More importantly, if I wanted to see streaming video of my feeders on my phone when I'm not at home, would a camera need wifi access from the house or could it also connect to 4G? Because I can't really get a wifi signal in my garden, it's too far from my router.

Dont you mean squirrel feeder camera?

There are a few threads in here about bird nest cameras that you might find handy. https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/search/44569595/?q=bird+cam&o=date

Apart from that I cant help as Im probably more clueless about cameras and wifi than you.

I can see the squirrels quite close-up as the squirrel feeder is not far away from my kitchen window. But I don't get much detail of the birds on the feeders which is further away. Taking photos through the kitchen window with my phone on max zoom is blurry at best.
