Bird keeping

Birds should not be kept locked up in cages so that people can have them around. They should be left in their natural habitats......

You could argue the same for most pets.

For reference, this particular pair were bred in captivity and are classified as ‘near threatened’ in their natural habitat, and not due to this practice, although I believe the exact reason isn’t fully understood, beyond humans destroying their natural habitat.

A whole separate debate of course.

Well you can generally tell that dogs and cats are fine with it. Cats will rehome themselves if they want to. Can't exactly ask a bird.
Not the point of this thread though, shouldn't derail.

Many natural habitats are disappearing to meet the demands of man's overpopulation of the planet. Not necessarily in this case, I have no idea how endangered that species is. But in many cases.

With confinement can come security. Ask married women who take oaths but in return gain financial advantages and security in many countries.

I hope you aren't fuelling up the petrol disc cutter and heading for the zoo tonight? If you are start with the big cats and let us know how it goes ;)

As above, u are derailing the thread!

I saw a family on the beach last month who had brought their pet birds in a cage with them. Not sure what they were from a distance, maybe lovebirds. It was hot and they had little shade, poor things, but they did get carried down to the edge of the sea for a look  crazy people.
