I think I road killed one of these the other day. Made an almighty whack on my cab. Thought it was an eagle or something! M5 Southbound. Just flew straight Infront of me. Not a care in the world.

Sometimes they're just knocked out and will recover after a while, so long as something doesn't run them over that is

It's probably a buzzard, sparrowhawks are not a big bird and you'd not get one on the ground near a motorway

Yes that looks more like it. It is a horrible feeling because in a car you can quite easily slow down or even swerve but in 44 tonne it is just impossible and it all happens in slow motion as you can basically do nothing!
