We appear to have a bird trapped in our chimney :eek:

No idea what to do!!!!!!

Leave it for a few days - the problem will sort itself one way or the other...

Then get your chimney sealed up so it doesnt happen again... (assuming you dont use it)

Had this happen to me in the past, best thing to do is just leave it. I found that eventually it comes out and flies around inside your house a bit, banging into everything breakable, until you throw a towel over it and chuck it outside.

I thought buoyancy was only water related?

Oh, that's an idea!

Seal your fire up, then climb on the roof and fill your chimney full of water. The bird will float top the top... eventually.

Seriously though same thing happened to a relative and the bird came on down the chimney and flew around the lounge covered in soot. Black marks and bird poo everywhere. Better to light that fire I think.
