Bird scarers

That makes sense, I've seen those spikes and nets on buildings.

If I could access the property I'd refit a fascia to stop them getting in.
Offer to fill in her hole ( no pun intended ) and lay on the fact the damage caused and health risks such as rats or mice in the roof.

Don't do this. All birds in the UK are protected by law. Whilst some species are allowed to be controlled, there are specific rules to be followed. It's highly unlikely that the OP's circumstances would fulfil GL35 or GL36 General Licenses and killing the birds would be unlawful and then the OP would be in all sorts of bother.

I agree. I have an air rifle (Weirauch hw80), but to shoot them on our land without the pellets leaving the property would mean enticing them into the garden, and sitting inside the garage doorway to ambush them. If I were to miss, the pellet would go straight through the fence, which has a path behind.

It's a recipe for disaster.

Yes it's a good suggestion. If the decoy hawk fails I will have to try and nag her into taking action and would be prepared to help. She has a 3 story house with lots of little apex's on the roof, so it would be very high up on the ladder (high to me anyway).

This is true. But you know what they say. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to see or hear it, does it make a sound....

Something like that anyway

I believe it's also illegal to chop down trees even on your own property.

Didn't stop me chopping 7-8 down during the pandemic.

Nobody reported me so looks like I'm in the clear.

As long as you used them for fire wood or sold it as fire wood I'm down with that brother

I burned them in the back garden because the council wouldn't pick them up because of Covid.

The previous owners went mental planting trees everywhere. I still have one more that needs to go and the others I'm keeping.

It's opened up the space allowing sunlight and my garden now looks a lot less busier and open. This will allow me to build a new shed 2-3 times the size of the current one and will also allow me to build a large log cabin and make better use of my garden.

All the stuff in my garage can then go into the shed or log cabin and then I can convert the garage and extend it some to make another bathroom and 2 rooms.

If I kept the trees I wouldn't have the space to make any of these projects go ahead. I've already installed solar panels at my own cost so I'm already up in terms of carbon as according to my system I've planted the equivalent of 311 trees by having it. So I'll have a rainforest by the time I'm gone.

Two of the trees were apple trees and tbh it was a nuisance as we didn't use the apples and having to pick up apples constantly then the leaves too was a lot of work.

I'm one for a garden that needs doing once and that's it.

Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you. You should start a separate thread just for that :)
