Hi guys, it's my sons birthday coming up in a couple of weeks and he's asked for a gaming PC. ( currently gaming on a laptop)

Does this build look sensible? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,493.83 (includes delivery: £0.00)

He wants to be able to play modern games with all the features like Ray Tracing and DLSS.

I am able source a monitor and peripherals so its just the desktop.

Budget wise i don't really want to go beyond £1500.

Many thank's.

What games would he be playing and what monitor would you be getting? (1080P/1440P etc)

For £12 more you can get this ram, its C30 instead of C36

Edit, sorry, just double checked and its £23 pound more.

Its still the cheapest C30 ram you can get from OCUK

Nothing to really change, couple of options though...

Take a look at the Hardware Unboxed review of the 9600X and see what games he will play, it's not hugely faster than the 7600X in gaming (i.e. a couple of percent) but the 7600X can be had for under £200
If you want DLSS/RT then Nvidia is your best bet, only alternative is the 9070XT which is a bit slower in raster, slower again in RT but can be picked up for £660 so a not-insignificant difference % wise

Again though your build looks fine so this is purely so you know your options.

Would pickup the C30 RAM if it were me for the extra few quid.

Would be gaming at 1440p.
So you think the extra £23 is worth paying for the other Ram?

Might prefer an 8 core cpu.
For about the same price, look's good.
