Hey all,

As the title says I'm planning to upgrade the peripherals a little but the overwhelming amount of choice on offer (especially for things which don't get upgraded often) is making it tricky...

Currently I've got a Razer Lycosa keyboard which I've had for ages now - it's served me well but time for an upgrade. As for the mouse I've had various Razer DeathAdder variants for the same time period...

However this whole "hey, sign up for a Razer account to be able to install and use our driver software" has majorly annoyed me, and I don't like any of their more recent products (and my last two DeathAdders have developed similar problems with the tracking and buttons), so I think it's time for a change.

Leaning towards the Corsair STRAFE with the silent switches (I'm not that fussed about the RGB thing but it doesn't seem to be the main contributor to the cost of these 'boards unless I'm mistaken) and the Steel Series Rival 300... Any opinions? Can anyone compare the mouse with a DeathAdder having owned both?

DeathAdder Chroma, ironed out the issues from the original DA. My old one lasted 8-9 years.

I didn't think the Chroma had been out that long (has it?) I think I had an original DA and then replaced it with a 3.5G and both gave up in the same way - including a super annoying problem with the button/s which would make them register single as double-clicks half the time and not at all other times...

Combined with their increasingly terrible software I think I might be done with Razer (maybe not for good, but for now at least)

Hmmm. The annoying thing is if it only had media keys I would go for a Filco Majestouch Ninja 2 (the one where the keys are all printed on the front and the tops are blank) and then pull all of the letter keys and replace them with keys that are completely blank :p but I think being able to switch tracks and volume etc. from the keyboard is just way too useful to pass up

Ducky setup

the new shine keyboard and secret mice look the business tie it all up with an arm rest and desk mat and youve got some quack quack awesomness

I currently have many many razer products here right now. Most of which are but a month old.

The software loves to crash and freeze from time to time causing my mouse to lock up for no reason at all.

The only Issue I have have had with Razer products is their control pads, 3 of which have broke, and the Razer Tiamat 7.1 Microphone is very poor quality.

But the decision is yours.

My Advise; I would personally find some keyboards and mousies you like. read some reviews and decided.

All in all they all do the same thing and everyone will have their opinions on the products they use.

Thanks guys... I did look at some of the Corsair mice as generally I've been impressed by their products, but a few reviews put me off by saying that the mice were small? (i.e. "great for someone with small hands" etc) One of the things I do like about the Razer DA is the size of it, as I have quite big hands I think and don't really go for the whole "claw grip" thing

Does anyone own any of the Corsair mice they could comment on?

I currently own a Razer Mamba 2012, Razer Mamba Chroma and a Cyborg R.A.T7.

I have owned the M65 RGB.

I like the Cyborg as it feels great but discontinued.

Both Mamba's feel good and the side buttons prove very useful and I don't feel as if there is a claw grip for my hands.

The M65 felt good but to small for my hand even though I have small hands. But I swapped due to the side buttons being a tad to small.

Just had a look at the M65 - seems quite nice actually, I think the default picture of it makes it look smaller than it does from other angles. Also seen some reports of the RIVAL falling apart after a year or two (the rubber sort of "melting"?!) so maybe Corsair are the way to go...
