A little bored tonight and exploring the new kitchen my parent's have finished installing as I've been away; I discovered a wonderful bounty -- a packet of chocolate digestives. As sad as this sounds, biscuits have been a luxury I've little been able to afford this last year as they're deemed non-essential.

Anyway, I usually have my biscuits with a new warm mug of tea and periodically dip or just enjoy side by side. However, tonight I decided against a mug of tea seeing as it's late anyway and settled for a glass of simple orange squash.

Now, I don't think I'm alone in this, but there's something very satisfying about drinking orange squash with your biscuits. Personally, I think it reminds me of when I was in primary school up't north. It certainly reminds me of running around the playground like a nutcase on heat.

Anyway... orange squash with biscuits: yay or nay? :p

Biscuits are cheaper than bread! you can always afford them. Bourbons are 14p per 100g love em

Hehe. I kid you not this year, but I often had to raid the pennies to just buy some bread. I got so sick of living off cheap bread and noodles.

Sometimes, being a student isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I love biscuits, always got a packet in my cupboard. Getting horribly expensive now though, Maryland Cookies used to be 65p for a packet, now they're 79p or so which is a rip-off. Same sort of thing applies to McVities chocolate digestives, chocolate HobNobs, and the Cadbury biscuits. It's a bad time to be a biscuit/chocolate lover, I tell you.

At least own-brand bourbons are always on hand to offer cheap and enjoyable biscuit goodness.

Not when the bank starts playing games with you there isn't ;)

Some of the cheap biscuits are just awful too. Taste like eating cardboard with sugar laced over the top.

I used to love dipping my biscuits into my tea but I don't drink tea anymore. It's Hot Chocolate for me:D. I have a biscuit tub seperate from rest of my family because I love them, it doesn't take long before a packet it demolished.

I had no food left (leaving for a week tomorrow) and just nicked a packet of digestives from one of my flatmates...

I'll buy them a new pack in the morning :p

u gotta dunk in warm drink. Orange Squash is too cold/sharp (acidic) for dunky!

Also, late at night, a warm drink would coax you into a drowzy phase, cold drinks wake u up. Tea also has caffine, so don't drink that, cocoa is best, since hot chocolate has sugar which also keep you awake. Cocoa, with milk, nice and thick/creamy, with some plain digestives = sleepy win :p

If you wanna keep yourself going on a cold day, by all means tea/coffee + chocy biccys ;) or on a warm day orange squash + chocy biccy :P

What's the difference?:eek:I always thought cocoa was the same as Hot Chocolate. lol, well even if it isn't we just call it cocoa anyway.

I have had warm milk wiht it before. mmm that's nice:p

And no matter what drink I have(only hot drinks obv), I always have to have 2 tea spoons of suger added.

You ever tried cocoa on it's own? :p

Well Hot Chocolate on it's own as I'm still waiting to find out what the difference is:rolleyes::p.

No it's much better and looks better wiht milk I'm sure. Unless you mean eating the powder? Then no. lol

Cocoa is quite bitter, thus best to have it with some milk.

Cocoa is ground cocoa beans, chocolate is this mixed with milk and plenty of sugar to make chocolate, hot chocolate is cocoa powder with milk powder and sugar. Cocoa is just the ground beans, but not sweet or creamy.

Try wikipedia/google :p
