I had a 1st for me in over 49 years yesterday. i got bit by a spider. The swelling has gone down now but it was pretty sore all last night and was hot to the touch with a big blister in the middle the area was also sticky at the time, i was half expecting my skin to fall off like some horror movie / flesh eating bacteria!. Thankfully its much better today so not gonna go to doctors but i dont recommend it. Similar to a wasp sting my foot!.

i didnt notice what species it was...... false widow the obvious one tho I didnt notice it looking different to the usual ones we get this time of year. Serves me right for trying never to hurt them and always picking them up and taking them out i guess., it was hiding in my lads toys and made a break for it across the lounge

what ever happens to me, i am not wearing a lycra suit and going out catching bad guys :D

I recommend you adopt a simple spider policy of crush on site.
The ones that make webs deliberately at head height across gardens should be killed with fire.
haha yeah those are the most dangerous spiders in the UK IMHO.
When you open your front door, all bleary eyed in the morning, and there's a freaking orb weaver vibrating at eye-level 6 inches from your face, the chances of having a heart attack are extreme!

Did it fall on your face whilst you were sleeping?

this happened to me once as i was drifting off, and it was massive

Needless so say i shot out of bed

Same thing happened to me earlier in the year, also the first time to the best of my knowledge. Woke up in the morning with an itchy bite mark and swollen lump. Antiseptic cream sorted it out.

nothing to worry about, in Australia our most dangerous Spider would be rated a 0.001 out of 10 for dangerousness

I've found loads of false widows recently. Usually they get terminated as they aren't native.

It happened :(

I felt it land on my face, i was scarred for life.

Enough of that thank you very much, especially after finding the massive beasty that was in the top corner of our bedroom on Friday night!! Needless to say it went in a big tube I had in the cupboard and got chucked out of the window. Spiders give me the creeps and I search our bedroom ceiling and walls with a torch before going to sleep, there have been loads of them this year.

I was bitten by a spider in my fathers old shed around 27 years ago. I was tasked with going in it to get something and when I bent down my T-shirt rode up and the damn thing bit me on the side. It hurt like hell and instantly swelled up and had a big red patch around the bite. It took a good few days to go down and the area was quite tender for a few days. I never did go back in that shed!!

Did you immediately run outside to your BMW and scan it for error codes?

:D

I ran outside, yes

:p

I am not usually scared of spiders, but when its dark, and i am drifting off, it's not a pleasant thing to happen.

Are you sure it was a bite? Sometimes they lay eggs.

I hear they lay eggs in your ear
