Bit of a Rant about the benefit system

Just been watching the Jeramy kyle show special on benifit briton! its has driven me insane.

I am self employed and cant work at the moment due to a minor operation and can barely walk. let alone lift anything.

there are people on that show that sit at home having sex and kids every day and are getting there house paid for, there bills reduced, there council tax written off as well as any debt reduced! one lady on there was getting £1700 a month and was saying how really that wasnt enough!

all they seem to do now is offer people security courses for nothing and then give them a job in the security industry!

i had to pay for my security course and the license £500 in total. i then worked the odd door after a day of my full time job! now when im working away in security i will do 100 hour weeks 7 days a week. and that can be months at a time! now my work is going to be harder and harder to find because they keep giving out the license i had to work hard and save for to people who really dont give a crap!

why is the benefit system in this country so awful! people are proud to be able to live without having to work at all! i would find it degrading and embarrassing if i was living on benefits! im only 22 but since i left college at 17 i have worked a full time job every week since! and when i was out of work i took anything i could, i was working restaurants, bars anything i could! i cant see how it is that hard for people to find work, understandably i know it easier for me at 22 to get a job in a bar than say at 50 year old.

right rant over, and there really is no point to this thread other than me venting my anger and moaning lol

its unreal! my gf has just moved into a flat by herself she earns £1200 a month and can just manage it. i am helping out when im back from work but when you see people getting £1700 a month for sitting watching tv it really makes my blood boil! shes working her ass off to pay bill and keep out of the red!

there should be some type on compulsory work if you fail to find a job in say 6months! where you work for your job allowance sorting rubbish, or cleaning the streets or even doing community service

Yeah, it's really terrible, providing jobs for the jobless! HOW DARE THEY WHEN YOU HAD THE MEANS TO PAY FOR YOURS THEY SHOULD GIVE IT TO THOSE WHO CAN'T! HONESTLY.

I had to work months in a bar saving everything I could after paying all my bills to be able to afford it! I saved in order to better myself and earn moreover to eventually have my own place etc and support a family in the future!

If they WANT to do the course they should again earn it! They should save just like I had to! Why should I have to work hard a save for it? What I should be doing is sitting at he doing nothing and just wait for it all to land on my lap!

I can't afford a new tv or to go out this weekend! Maybe if I just sit here and do nothing the gov will pay for me! And eventually they will! That's wrong!!

They get money, its spent on living costs, I doubt anyone on benefits has savings or a private pension and is probably in massive debt with brighthouse.

But they read 'if I have a kid I will get £100 (or however much it is) a month! And then for every kid after I keep getting more! And I don't even have to work!! Result! Right love get your knickers down it's time to live for free!'

Not in all cases!

Some get rent paid (usually £400+) council tax (usually £100ish) that's £500 right off the bat before they get job series's at £200 a month, then child benefit at £100! Theres £800 easy now a minimum wage job after tax you will take home about £800 a month! That's around my area that's a full 45hour week on £5.83! Without doing the full math I don't think I'm far off

I think to be reassessed often makes perfect sense really!

Maybe im just annoyed becasusevim self emp and can't work due to a minor op therefore I lose money and there's no benefit that can help me while I'm recovering!

Security may not be a skilled Job but it still requires a license to do it! People they are giving the license to are not actually interested in the job at all it's just something the job centre is telling them to do!

I'm self employed and want to be in security, I saved and paid my way to get the relevant license needed, now I struggle to find as much work as before because it's now being flooded with polish, Indians all nationalities they are willing to work for minimum wage because they can't even speak the language! Now for me to find work is more difficult because of this, same with a lot of guys I know that ate in security because it's a career choice, we stuggle because it's full of people that just do it because they are told to!

And by the way security can be a technical Job and some areas can require skills!

The only plus side is the cash they get is spent back into the economy so gvt get some return and it artificially supports some industries. Especially on high duty items like cigarettes and alcohol. Was no different to labours approach to over inflating the public sector.

Apart from the money going to drug dealers (I know not all people a drugys)

And I understand that all jobs are affect by imagrents being willing to work for less! But the company I am sub contracted to most of the time pay the same £9.50 p/h they pay that to anyone, but there are so many people now within the business that it's easy for them to just get anyone in that hPpe s to be near by because they are all licensed! I am lucky that I get on with the bosses and am good at what I do so I still get a fair amount of work, it's just infuriating when my collegues (well some of) can't speak English over an open radio network, when that is the key part of the job! How am I supposed to do my job to the best of my ability when my backup / other contact points in other areas can't reply to tell me if they are having an problems??

Now tell me why they should give the security license out to anyone and everyone? I can accept that English people who can speak English should have help! But why provide a license that most of us had to pay for to guys (and girls) who can't actually do the job at all? Yet get the same money?

Ha yea self emlpoyed and forced out of work while I recover from a operation sucks cos I want to be out earning! Luckily I do know a guy who has few bits I can do on my Karoo so brings in a few quid while I'm off
