Bit of advice needed

Hi guys,

I kind of have a bit of a dilema.

At the moment I have:

Core 2 Duo e6850 @ 3ghz.
4GB OCZ Reaper PC2-6400 (400 MHz)
ASUS P5QL-E mobo
Radeon 3870X2 1GB

My PS3 recently broke so Im going to buy a blu ray drive for the pc and use that for movies. So I was thinking of getting the Logitech z-5500 speakers for the surround sound extraveganza. Now theyre like £250. At the moment I have these speakers - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-000-AE I have been told they're good enough.

If I was to upgrade I think i'd have £400 to play with. Which isnt much I know. I'd only need to be buying mobo/cpu/ram/gfx though? But my PC is over 2 years old now and I'm wondering what sort of gear I could get for that sort of money. If I was to upgrade though, I'd want something that will run everything on highest settings really for the foreseable future. Otherwise I wont bother. My current rig pretty much does that anyway, although it does struggle now and again when playing Metro 2033.

I've been told that a radeon 5850 would keep me going for a while but I'm unsure, won't my CPU and ram bottleneck the system?

Anyway.... Any opinions would be greaty received. Blu ray and speakers or blu ray and upgrade?

You could try get a Q6600 for around 80£, not sure if your Mobo supports it.

Those speakers should be fine, save your money for the other upgrades. As Fallen god said the Q6600 will make a nice affordable upgrade with the 5850 and should keep you going a while.

yeh a Q6600 as others have said or even a second hand Q9550 if you can find it, and a new graphics card
