Could someone give me some reasons please :)
I install vista64 bit as raid0. seemed to be running ok.
The GFX card has a HDMI connector to it, so i thought i'd use that for when i get the blueray player. so turned the pc off, connected the HDMI, turned it on, but no picture  so i thought maybe u need to set something in the bios to get it to work. so i just thought i'd reset the comos on the board.
then still not joy. so put the other dvi connection back on, and booted up, but then it said, missing operation system :( why on earth would this happen.
and any ideas why the hdmi connection won't work ?

Thanks a lot.:D

Did you completly reset everything in the bios? Sounds to me like you need to do a startup repair... have a look here on how to do that.

I cant see how a reset of the bios would cause this though.

Nice spec

I think I know exactly what's going on here. By resetting the CMOS you returned the SATA configuration to the BIOS default IDE compatibility mode instead of RAID, and that's why it can't detect your raid array and hence your OS partition. Simply go into SATA settings in your BIOS and set it back to RAID mode. Depends on how many other storage devices you have you may also need to set the primary hard drive to your raid array after this. Let me know if you can't find the settings.

As for HDMI output you will need to set it up in the NV control panel. You see the thing is that the GTX295 uses dual GPUs running internal SLI, and the way the video ports are arranged means that the HDMI connector ends up on the second card. Now that doesn't sound like much of a problem but when SLI is enabled you can only use the ports on the first card (the 2 dvi ports). So you can either use the integrated HDMI port and loses SLI functionality or leave SLI on and use a DVI to HDMI adapter instead, which is what I'd recommend to get the best out of your card.
