Hello all.
I have a bit of spare cash burning a hole in my pocket and was thinking about doing a bit of an upgrade. Just not sure what way to go.
Spec in my sig below.
Have a nice overclock on the Q6000 and that's fine for now.
I game at 1920x1200

Was thinking about adding a second 4870 1gig but only have a P35 board so would need either P45 or X48 - could pick one up 2nd hand for a bit of a saving. It's tempting as the sapphire 4870 is on offer.

PSU might be a problem. It's an older 600W Seasonic and only has 2 6pin PCIE connectors. Does this mean a new PSU too? Only alternative would be using 2 molex to PCIE adapters but there's a lot of other things already attached.

So.
Should I just grab a 4870X2? By the time I get new card + new mobo + maybe new PSU it would probably cost as much.

Any thoughts?

yeah save your money until i7 chips are more affordable or get a gtx295 if you must spend the money.

I can't see much need to upgrade anything there for a while. Sometimes it's difficult to bite your tongue and leave your PC as it's happy. I want to change things to mine, but sometimes you've got to be reasonable.

If you are thinking crossfire or SLI in the future, I'd think about a new PSU. Otherwise hold out for i7 CPUs

You guys are probably right. I suppose there's nothing in the system that really needs upgrading. It's just not that often that I have a bit of spare cash and I'm given the go ahead to buy something i don't really need. :)
The big problem with reading these forums is that you get caught up in the constant quest for newer, faster pc bits.
