I just received the headset in the mail today, plugged everything into my MSI Z87-G43 gaming motherboard which is meant to have very good audio support; but my computer barely picks up the mic unless I boost the gain to +20dB and that obviously almost drowns out speech in noise. I have tested it in different positions and have concluded that the problem is that the microphone stalk is too short to reach your mouth - since when you position the headset (wearing the left ear cup on your cheek) so that the microphone is infront of your mouth it works perfectly - so you have to have it next to your cheek, where it picks up very little sound.
Is there something I'm missing? Does the stalk extend, because that's what I assumed but only feel like I'm breaking the headset when I try to extend it. Could anyone suggest a replacement microphone that would be longer?
