BitFenix shinobi and corsair A50 cooler

If it is from another build with different compnenets then it will either hang at the windows loading screen, or start normally and go mad at the new hardware detedcted and will try and load new drivers.

It always best with a fresh clean install in my opinion when making major changes such as a completely different board/cpu etc.

my bad, should have explained better, OS HD is new HD which is going to have win 7 fresh installed on it, other HD's are just storage, which i was planning on adding later when i finished backing few things up off my old OS HD

right got it all up and running :) really gotta get used to using pc in 1080p now lol quite weird i must say.

Right anyway, i downloaded realtemp, ive got the follow temps showing
34, 33, 29 and 36.

By look of those take i could do with re-applying my thermal compound?

yes thats will me just sat at desktop, and yes cpu-z shows literally just under 1.6ghz some thing like 1.59ghz. just noticed on SPD tab that it says max badwidth is PC3-10700 (667mhz) is that correct?

Forgot to say those temps are with the side of my case off aswell, so would probably be a tad higher with it on. Read that artic silver has a braking in period before temps should drop to where they should be is this correct or not?

667MHz*2 (DDR) = 1334MHz, so if you got 1600Mhz ram you should set the ram timings/speed/voltage manually to whats on the RAm sticks.

ok will get onto it next time i reboot system. so do you think those temps maybe a bit high for idle speed? i guess it wont hurt to whip the heatsink off again and re-apply some

My temps now with speedstep on is about 32-33. but its obviously a bit hot in sunny weston-s-mare.

yeh thought my temps were abit high, will whip the cooler off again at somepoint. is it better to put thermal paste onto cpu or onto the heatsink? changed my ram to ddr3-1600mhz 9,9,9,27 at 1.65v, but spd still says there pc3-10700 (667mhz), but in the memory tab DRAM freq is 798.2mhz
