bitlocker encryption failure

i have an external hard drive that bitlocker demolished
I am doing the recovery by
repair-bde ?: ?: -force -rp [recovery password]

but now: failed to read sector at offset 59979867648
The question is how many centuries will it take to finish?
Lucky me it is a 60gb hard drive

has anybody had any success with this?
I am willing to run my laptop one month for it but dang not a year

Have a look here...

It suggests taking an image of the failing drive and then recovering data from that.

this recovery thing will eat up my soul
Will clone the hard drive with a intel tool tomorrow
i am begging it to work

he gave the wrong recovery password
I want to strangle him
And left on his holiday

But i did a clone of the drive and it is in working order
Should be easy getting the data at this stage
