bittorrent software - how do i get around blocking?

By the way, where did you find out about the restrictions?

I want to see if my ISP is doing similarly.

Thanks.

i found out when i got a letter through the door saying i was being classified as a heavy user. they just said i was being put on 'low priority' at peak times. and since then i've noticed i cant use bittorrent or IRC between 6pm and 11pm. :/

If you're using uTorrent you can schedule your downloads so they only run offpeak and so don't count towards your monthly allowance (thats what I do, although it may depend on your ISP's fair usage policy)
i'm gutted that IRC is blocked though... I only use it for chat, so minimal bandwidth. :(

they will have sent you numerous emails regarding you breaking the FUP. You chose to ignore them and this is the result, your own fault.
hardly mate - i live in a shared house. if the isp sends email i don't get them, so it's my housemates fault.

anyway, judging by your replies in this topic wtf... do you work for an isp or something? you seem a little biased in their favour...

You seem to be blaming anybody but yourself here. :)
no, if my housemates didnt warn me about emails from the ISP then it's hardly my fault. and who the hell said anything about me doing nothing but downloading all day? the connection is shared between seven people, so i suppose despite that it's all my fault, eh?
