Welp, a mystery that has confounded experts for a very long time has just been solved by a student on a computer forum! We can all go home happy now.

The money pit posted above is really interesting as well. Here's a pic :

Not really, even Wiki has it as the most likely theory.:p

As for the money pit I'm very sceptical about that, just seems very far fetched to me, especially the flood channel.

It's something I would have to go and look at before I believed it.

I think that first one could almost be explained off... almost!

Erm... what about Nessie? :D

I heard a man saw her last Wesnedsay! :p *

*Not much of a mystery really though :o

I watched a documentary the other night about The Bloop. Certainly is a very odd one indeed.

Also watched a documentary on the money pit a few years ago, its another mystery which I find very interesting.

Some very strange things out there (especially those two above).

Thread here with a big long list. Some awesome ones in there too :)

A favourite past time of mine is to go to the Area 51 sub forum at abovetopsecret.com

I don't have any interest in Area 51 as a conspiracy or mystery but it is filled with the most delusional nutjob posters that it makes for fantastic reading :)

New satellite image of 'Area 51':

"Look at the new hangar with the landing pad behind it. Massive circle marked out in the concrete around the landing area. Ain't marked as a helicopter landing pad and is far, far too massive for a helicopter.

That's where the Legacy Class Starship ports and gets rolled in."

LOL

^ I reserve going to ATS for when I'm feeling down. It always cheers me up and has nothing to do with my interest in 'normal' mysteries :) You have a good memory!

I had never heard of the Dyatlov Pass incident!.........very interesting, I get wrapped up in these storys which then start to annoy me because I want to know what happened.....I wonder if there is a book out on this story?...must be.

Pretty sure I saw something recently on this in that it was probably latter stage hypothermia. You begin to feel really warm as the body starts keeping all the heat your core areas and so in delusion you remove clothing. Delirium sets in, you wander off and freeze to death.

Yeah but it happend a few hours after they ate and to all of them at the same time? the broken bones etc really doesnt make sense.....

Yes, this is one of the strongest suggestions for their state of undress. The mystery tends to focus on the supposed radiation and the "compelling unknown force" which, I admit, is getting very dramatic for something that could be very easy to explain.

It's just that no one has yet.

We have no idea when it happened as everyone died. The problem is, as with many of these things, as time passes the story gets embellished. The original post even mentions the fact that radiation seems to have been added to the story at some point. Obviously the hypothermia thing is a theory too, but unfortunately it is a touch on the mundane side and so gets ignored in favour of more interesting "explanations".
