I've been training in MMA and submission grappling for 10 years now. I have only ever done 1 session of proper BJJ in a gi, I do have a brown belt in Judo though where I started initially.
As far as watching Quintet Sakurabas promotion is probably the most entertaining show around at the moment. Providing you like no gi of course
Purple belt in BJJ. Been training about 8/9 years. (Should probably have my brown by now but I've had a lot of time off for surgeries/kids).
I started with MMA and have slowly given that up so 90% of my training is gi with a little no gi (and the odd muay thai class thrown in for good measure). We normally start sparring from standing so end up doing quite a lot of wrestling against the wall etc.
I used to compete quite a lot but haven't really for about 5 years. I keep saying I will again but I'm only training 2/3 times a week at the moment and I'm constantly injured. Haha.
