They are mostly lacquered anyway. A layer of paint instead isn't going to add much and it won't look crap anymore

What's the point of fitting one then if it looks the same and in some cases heavier? The people who fit the fir weight saving get decent ones that they don't care for appearance so why bother painting just so some random guy called Andy likes it?

Some people like the look of raw carbon. Hence it's bare on many supercars and things like the M3 roof
