Black Country battered (orange) chips

Orange/Battered chips are the most delicious chips in the world... but what's in the batter?

Has anyone seen them outside of the black Country?

I need to learn how to make them!

Nah defo battered, although I think the lard or fat or whatever they're cooked in helps the flavour.

Not sure if it is the same as potato wedges, doesn't taste the same... well not quite.

Where is your favourite Battered chippy?

I got 2, Manor Road by the Wednesbury Ikea, and Majors in Bilston
