Black Diamond

As long as arnie is part of the elite team.

I use Brembo blanks on the front and EBC on the rear of the DC2 and they are good and cheap.

Carbone Lorraine pads are also the dogs danglies, but do squeal like a pig :D

Love love love love love loved then.

Went through 2 sets on my 330d.

Had the grooved ones. First set lasted 40k second set lasted 20k + as I sold the car by then.

Don't rat the pads.

I used OEM pads with the first set. And then ds2500 with the next set. Along with braided hoses.

Their pads are pretty **** though and fell apart............

Nowadays if just grooved discs from crn performance..

Yeah I'm just after decent blanks with decent pads, nothing too fancy just an improvement over OEM as OEM is shocking and the dust is really bad

I might just go the EBC route with red stuff pads, I like the idea of low dust and they've been around forever so must be decent enough

Either that or MTEC and Mintex combo but I dont know much about them, however they are very reasonable at £160 for the lot

i had red stuff years back on an mr2. id say the cold resonse was actually bad, i wont use those again. yellows, however, were much better when cold

Did the EBC go through a product wide shakeup in 10-11? I remember posts from the company on Pistonheads trying to clarify improvements in performance

They may have sorted the issues out now, but I had a full set of redstuff, the rear pads snapped off the backplates after about 4000 miles.

I was offered a full refund, but I was too lazy to send them back :/

The fronts have been fine, I bought them from different shops though iirc. May have been a problem with older revision of them.

Green pads are meant to be an improvement over OEM and have very low dust, iirc mrk has them on his car

-edit, I'll be moving to something else next though, red stuffs are **** until they've heated up (one or two uses of the brakes).

Why bother going for EBC pads, just because they've been around for ages doesn't mean they're good.

Look at Carbone Lorraine RC5+, Hawk or Ferrodo DS2500 pads instead with soem blank discs.

Then consider some braided hoses and flush your system with some ATE super racing blue fluid.

Jobs a good 'n !!!!

how comes racing blue has become a de rigeur product in 2012? for years everyone had to have motul 2600 (or something similar)

Just good stuff.

Excellent dry and wet boiling temperatures with it coming up trumps in some review shootouts if I remember quickly. It's also had favourable reviews on the forum I'm on from guys who regularly track their cars (DC2).

Plus you can get it in blue and orange, so it's easy to see when you've flushed all the old one out with the new one and it's very reasonably priced compared to the JDM fanboi racing ones which don't offer good value or anything extra.

I've got this combo on my rears. The brake dust is horrible and I'll certainly avoid the Mintex pads in future.

The discs seem of a decent quality and the optional black coating keeps them looking good.

Ive been using it for your and remember ppl turning their noses up at it because it wasn't from one of the usual tuning brands
